With the development of China's paper industry, the sludge produced by the treatment of papermaking wastewater is also a new pollution. The paper sludge mainly comes from primary sedimentation tanks and biochemical pools. Paper sludge contains large amounts of cellulose-based organic matter and nitrogen and phosphorus. Potassium and other plant nutrients, but also contains traces of heavy metals and pathogens, according to this feature can be processed into organic fertilizer sludge, we all know that sludge contains a lot of water, how to remove the water that?

In the paper industry, filter presses are generally used to remove the moisture from the sludge. Sludge is concentrated, before entering the mechanical dehydration, the sludge needs to be added with chemicals for treatment. Due to the difference in the papermaking technology, the added chemicals are not all the same. Generally, the additive is non-polar flocculant such as polyaluminum chloride, ferrous sulfate, etc. The most commonly used and most effective one is the organic flocculant polyacrylamide. Cationic polyacrylamide has its unique advantages in the treatment of paper sludge, forming a large floc, more water in the filter press process, and a mud cake containing water. The rate is low, and the moisture content of the mud cake can reach about 75%, which facilitates the reprocessing of the mud cake. Mud cakes can be further processed into organic fertilizers to realize turning waste into treasure
